Cheng Jia Qiao community of changning district is located in the west part of this district, shanghai. starting in the east from the Xijiao State Guest Hotel and ends at the Hongqiao Airport in the west, attaching the Hong Qiao Xi Road in the south and neighbouring the 455 Army Hospital of PLA in the north. The district area is 7.6 square kilometers, residents of 7092 households, the district population is near to 20 thousand. The ChengJiaQiao Community was funded in september, 1986 and with 10 departments subordinating to it.( functions). Staffing with national public sevant and administrative staff near to 100 persons. Including 8 resident zones and 8 social work stations in this jurisdiction area.
Over recent years, our community has been honored many awards such as ’Model Collective of national unit and progress’, ‘Advanced community for the Senior Citizens' Work in shanghai’ , ‘Shanghai Municipal advanced unit in afforestation’, ‘Shanghai municipal double support exemplary community’ and ‘Shanghai municipal science and technology exemplary community’ etc. The 17 neighborhoods of the whole community have been established to be the municipal ‘Model Neighborhood’. In the year of 1995, the community only had the tax revenue over 2 million yuanes and on which based that the community insisited in seizing the economic construction center. The recent five years have witnessed the total of 714 enterprises has been introduced into the community and with registered capital of Rmb 2211.31 millions yuanes, and USD 58.769 millions. In the year of 2007 has amounted to the tax revenue target of 5.03482 hundred millions.
Since 2000, the community has been strengthening the construction and administration of the urban area by means of house dismantlement, Old distric reconstruction, the project of slope roof modification from flat roof of residental areas and the contruction of ‘ten road and ten scenes ’ etc. And established succesively such as Community Affair Handling Center, Community Culture Activity Center, Community Health Service Center and Community Hospital and Health station. There are total of 22 senior apartment villas zone and more than 4000 residents foreigners from 38 countries and regions which is a community of highly internationalized .
